Tour Description

Have you ever heard that in Mykonos, one of the most popular Greek islands, lies to the east coast a tiny, rocky secluded islet with wild natural beauty and sparkling blue waters?

That islet is Dragonisi (meaning the Dragon Islet) or else Tragonisi (meaning Billy Goat Islet), a unique hidden gem, completely different even from any other uninhabited island in the Cycladic Archipelago.

After you will be picked up by our complimentary shuttle transportation, one of our cruise representatives will greet you and give you an overview of the cruise itinerary and a safety briefing.
Embarkation time is at 08:45am when a short tender ride will follow from the small dock to the sailing yacht anchored out in the charming bay of Kalafatis.

The journey begins as we raise our sails with the Aegean breeze heading to the rugged natural wonder of Dragonisi Islet, approximately 30-minute distance from Mykonos. Its stunning rock formations and crystal blue waters will captivate you while approaching Dragonisi.
It is a volcanic beautiful land protected under the Natura 2000 network due to its exclusive marine habitat among the impressive underwater tunnels and caves and to its wildlife of several species of birds, goats, rabbits and marine life (dolphins, sea turtles and monk seals but not seen in all periods and yellow sea anemones). Dragonisi is a heavenly site for snorkeling and diving and renowned for its Natura shelter of the Monachus-Monachus monk seal.

Dropped anchor in the idyllic cove surrounded by dramatic cliffs, dive into this unprecedented scenery and uncover the untouched aquatic secrets by swimming and snorkeling (pier facilities or tendering ashore are not available). Weather permitting, in very rare cases, sea caves might also be visited.

It is lunch time after the Aegean Sea has whetted your appetite. Indulge in a delicious authentic old-school recipe of the famous Greek “Souvlaki” wrap freshly prepared by the crew and seasonal local fruits, and a selection of complimentary local house wine, beers and soft drinks.

Start to sail back and enjoy a quick beach safari to Mykonos south-east coastline passing some of the most remote and non-organized beaches, the beautiful and peaceful Frangia and Tsaggari beaches.

Arrival back to Mykonos is scheduled by 02:00pm. This memorable and breathtaking experience concludes by saying goodbye—in Greek style—with a farewell shot drink toast.

GOOD TO KNOW:
Mykonos is nicknamed “Island of Winds”. The Cyclades - the complex of islands where Mykonos belongs to - have been geographically shaped from the phenomenon of wind called “Meltemi”. Every summer the low barometric pressure from the Balkans clashes with the higher hot blasts from Africa and in this way the north wind of “Meltemi” is formed. Thus, the wind in Mykonos is completely normal and part of the lifestyle of both locals and visitors. It will ultimately leave its mark on your own Mykonos holiday album. According to the weather during the cruise, the selected beaches for swimming are the most protected ones and less windy. After all, this is also the experience of being on a sailing yacht, setting the sails to the wind needed as it is the primary engine power. Occasionally during the season there might not be enough wind or the convenient wind direction to set sails and only in such cases, the sailing route will be motorized.
